Why is my Staffy puppy suddenly aggressive after hitting his head?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 1.8 lbs

My staffi is 6mths old but at 9 weeks he fell down stairs and bang his head we took him to the less and all they were worried about was his mouth as they thought he broke his jaw they didn't say anything about the bumps on his head. But now he seems to be aggressive. But one moment his fine then the next he just flips and starts biting and barking what should we do

It would be unusual for this to occur secondary to a bump on the head, but it is possible to see personality changs with major head trauma. I would recommend having your vet examine him again to look for signs of neurologic problems. Your vet can also refer you to a behaviorist who could help determine whether or not this is simply behavioral and unrelated to the accident.
