Can cats with ringworm stay together if both get medicated shampoo?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Male | neutered | 4.8 lbs

I have two ragdoll cats one is 5 months the other one is 6 months. The 5 month-old is suspected to have ringworm and it is only suspected not actually sure and I will be treating both of them with a medicated shampoo just in case the healthy one has contracted something. Is it ok to keep both ragdolls together if they are being cleaned with medicated shampoo.

Since you are treating both of them, yes they can stay together. You will also have to disinfect your home, as ringworm spores can live in the environment up to 18 months. I will put a link below on how to do this: http://www.livestrong.com/article/49666-rid-home-ringworm/
