Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | 55 lbs
My dog has a broken leg and surgery. He will not pee outside. He has peed in his crate. The vet says he will figure it out but it’s getting very taxing. I take him outside numerous times daily and he just lays down. I’ve had him cathetered twice but can not afford this. He’s ‘normally’ a outside dog and I know he’s confused but what can I do to get him to pee? The vet said I need to keep him down for a month and it’s been 1 1/2 weeks so far. Any suggestions? He eats and drinks ok

I'm wondering if sling walking or propping him up using towels might be an option depending on the type of surgery that he had - if he's able to posture in a semi-normal position he might be more willing to urinate. Ask your vet if this might be an option before trying at home. https://www.mspca.org/angell_services/how-to-make-a-supportive-dog-sling/
