My cat ate ants from his food bowl. Is this dangerous for him?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered

I hate two questions. 1) my cats gums are pale pink. 2) there are tiny golden ants (I think they’re called pharaoh ants) and they are inside my cats food box and in his food and basically all around his food area. The ants have been there for a while and I’m pretty sure he ate a bunch of them(since they’re in his food) and I think the ants are on him since he sits down and eats and usually lays on the floor and they get stuck to him? (he has long Hair)

1. Pale pink and pink gums are normal. It's concerning when the gums are white. 2. I don't think these ants will make Robin sick, but they should not be in his food or on him. I would clean out these areas to get rid of the ants.
