My puppy died with yellow gums. Could an iron supplement be the cause?

Puppy gum and ear flap were yellow he was Ill coz his bone was fractured it got swell vet removed puss he become ok and active but suddenly after two days he stop eating and drinking anything today we found his gums and ear flap yellow he weigh around 14 kg and was 5 month puppy vet told his hemoglobin is low and give syrup who's ingredients are reattach in photo I give him 20ml and after 20 minutes he died so is this syrup reacted hjm and he died or what I am very guilty now that why I gave

Hello, and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I’m so sorry for the loss of your puppy! With your description of what happened with your puppy, the iron supplement was not likely to be a factor in why he died. I don’t know what sort of trauma caused the fracture, but it sounds like he was probably bleeding internally - that was probably the cause of his yellow color and low hemoglobin. It also sounds like he was also fighting a serious infection at the fracture site, if your vet removed pus from his leg. These are both serious and potentially life threatening problems. I suspect that he was near death prior to you giving the supplement, and it was just unfortunate timing. I’m sorry! I do hope this helps. All the best to you.
