Thank you for submitting your question regarding Dojo. The gestation period of a dog is around 63 days. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell simply by looking at a dog how far along in pregnancy she may be. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian for x-rays of her belly. The fetal skeletons are visible after 45-50 days of gestation. The x-rays will also tell you how many puppies she is expecting. This is helpful information when she is in labor. I hope this information helps!

If you know the date of the first mating then you will be able to calculate an expected due date. The website below has a calculator that will generate that information for you http://petsci.co.uk/dog-canine-pregnancy-calculator-calendar/ Typically bitches will give birth around 63 days after conception - it it can range between 56 and 70 days. The website below will give you information regarding what to expect at each stage of the pregnancy. http://www.royalcanin.co.uk/knowledge-centre/dogs-pregnancy-week-week/ Ultimately an ultrasound scan would be the most accurate way of estimating what stage of pregnancy your dog may be at currently but you would need to make an appointment with your veterinarian in order to do so. Best of luck!

Approximately June 11-13th would be the most like time of parturition if conception occurred April 12th . The average gestation is between 60-65 days in most dog breeds. Hope this helps. I would recommend going to your vet to check for fetal heart beats around three to four weeks of pregnancy, and then another few weeks after that to check for skeletal structures in an x-ray. This will prepare you for the approximate number of puppies you should expect. Skull size can also be a predictive factor in determine the presumptive likelihood of a C-Section. Hope this makes sense.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. The normal gestation period in dogs is approximately 63 days from conception, although this can vary by several days. This will be around September 10th for Sparks. I hope this is helpful!

Pregnancy can start up to 4-5 days after mating. She may be due any time in the next few days. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
