Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | unspayed
My mother cat has all black and gray cats except for one. she keeps moving the white one farther into the shade when it goes near the light with the rest of the litter. why does she do that? is it a sign of albinoism?

I am sorry that we weren't able to get to your question sooner. That is an interesting behavior. It is nice of her to take the white one into the shade, it would be unexpected for her to instinctively know that her skin is more prone to damage from the sun. I don't have a good explanation for that behavior. As long as she is attentive to the kitten as well, in terms of making sure the white kitten is nursing too, etc, I wouldn't be too concerned. A picture would help us have a better idea of whether the white kitten was albino. https://www.catster.com/lifestyle/albino-cat-kitten-health-facts-what-is-albinism-siamese-cats Thank you for asking PetCoach!
