My dog ate a big lamb ear. Is her lethargy a stomach issue?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 2 years and 6 months old | 5.5 lbs

Would GI trouble have immediate symptoms? My girl was having a lamb ear and the final piece, while very soft, was kind of big and she swallowed it. She’s pretty lethargic and not following me around like she usually does. Is it possible it hurt her? Does it just need more time to digest? She’s never had issues with these before so im just a little nervous.

If the lamb ear was big, that certainly could have unsettled Esther’s stomach quickly. Keep an eye on her for now. If she starts vomiting, stops eating, or is still lethargic in the morning, have her seen by the vet. Best of luck
