Is 10-minute walks 3x daily too much exercise for my 3-month puppy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 2 months and 22 days old | 8 lbs

I’m concerned I may be exercising my puppy too much. I live on a small loop where the loops takes about 10 minutes to walk. He’s very young (3 months) but seems to love the walk, never pants, we never run and it helps my schedule because he sleeps great after and I can get things done on my own. I’ve been doing this about 2-3 times a day, is this too much?

Exercise for puppies should be calculated as 5 minutes per month of life twice daily. For a puppy Roddy's age, that's 15 minutes twice a day. If the loop is only 10 minutes, even if you go three times a day, that's fine. As he gets older, you can increase his exercise time. I hope this helps!
