My dog took Tylenol. Is it dangerous and can it damage their liver?

What can happen if you give your dog Tylenol? We just had our husky cross put down today unfortunately and the vet said her liver was failing as her gums were becoming jaundice. I didn't say anything at the time but about 10 days before my girlfriend gave her half a Tylenol in the morning and half at night for 2 days. She was 13 years old and quite feeble before, but do you think this is what ultimately caused her liver to fail?

I'm so sorry you lost Sophie recently, please accept my condolences for your loss. Unfortunately Tylenol is toxic to dogs, and it does cause liver damage. There is a potential that this Tylenol could have lead to the liver damage and subsequent failing. I'm sorry.
