My kittens have eye discharge. Is it contagious? Do they need a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My two kittens are having constant discharge from their eyes. They are feral and I have the mother and the other two kittens as well. Should I separate them? Are there any treatments? Please guide and assist me. (P.s. I cleaned the first kittens eyes out since it could not open them.)

These kittens need to see a vet, as it sounds like they have an eye infection. This cannot be treated at home. Eye infections can be contagious, so if the kittens are weaned, you can separate them from the other kittens and the mother. Please take the kittens into a vet first thing in the morning.
