Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 10 lbs

I had asked a question earlier about my cat having a lump on his leg. Well I was examining it today and it feel like a swollen vein I don’t know if cats can get those but that’s what it feels like . I honestly don’t have any money at the moment to take him to the vet is there anything I can do. He’s not pain he’s normal and happy.

Swelling of a superficial vein is known as phlebitis, and yes cats can get that. Without seeing Chandler in person, however, I can't say if that is the cause of this lump or not. I do think he should see a vet, but if he's happy and normal and it isn't bothering, you can save up money for the visit. I can also give you some resources that may help. You can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website. http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/trouble_affording_pet.html?credit=web_id91754962 https://www.redrover.org https://www.carecredit.com http://bestfriends.org/resources/financial-aid-pets http://lessonsfromaparalyzeddog.com/when-pet-owners-cant-afford-veterinary-bills/ http://www.dogheirs.com/resources-affordable-veterinary-care/ Best of luck.
