My cat ate string and floor cleaner. Is she poisoned or blocked?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Longhair | Female | spayed | 10 months and 29 days old | 6 lbs

As I was mopping with Greased Lighting, a string fell off. My fur baby ate it and I am terrified that she is going to either be poisoned or the string won’t pass through. She seems fine, but I am so scared for her. Please help!!!!

I suppose the floor cleaner could cause GI upset like vomiting or diarrhea, but I doubt June ingested enough to cause any symptoms. A single string would probably pass through the stomach and intestines without problems as long as it was short. You should monitor June closely for any vomiting or decreased appetite over the next few days and contact your vet if noted.
