Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 3 months old | 0 lbs

My french bulldog has been limping for a few days lifting his back leg when he walks. His paw is sore but he let me touch it. It looks infected should I take him vet or is there something I can buy please?

You need to take Frankie into the vet. Limping means he's in pain, and if the paw is infected, that has to be treated with prescription medications. Please take him into a vet first thing in the morning. Best of luck.

It sounds like he may have over exerted himself or pulled a little muscle. If he broke something it would USUALLY be painful and swollen but not always. I would confined him until you are able to take him to the vet which means do not let him jump, play, run, or have free reign of the house. I would put him in a crate or small room and leash walk him only to go to the bathroom. I would not give him any human pain meds as most are toxic to dogs. Your vet will be able to determine the area of injury and give him meds if needed. I hope this helps!
