My dog whines when mom leaves. How to ease his separation anxiety?

Hi! Since a year or so my dog has developed separation anxiety regarding my mom. Every time she leaves he whines and is restless. She’s gonna be gone for a couple of days. Is there anything I can do for him to make him more comfortable? Any medication or exercise that will get him to relax? Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | neutered | 10 years and 3 months old | 25 lbs

Be sure to get him plenty of exercise while he is gone; walks are great. You can talk to your vet about temporarily trying a medication such as fluoxetine or even trazadone to help ease his anxiety. You can try a calming treat such as Composure. I'm not sure if you can get this in India, but it is a good product and no prescription is needed. Thank you for asking PetCoach!
