Why is my parakeet standing on one leg and holding food with it?

Hiya iv just bought a alaxandra parcet hes nails are a bit long and he got caught in my daughter jumper he was been dancing when I come home from work he was standing on one leg he is using it to hold food or more when he wants to do u think I need to take him to the vets x. Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male

Thanks for reaching out about Coco and including a photo. If he is holding his leg up, a veterinary visit is recommended to at least rule out a fracture or dislocation. Soft tissue trauma or bruising will often recovery well on their own but anti-inflammatories can quicken recovery. Good luck.
