Why does my 3-month puppy have diarrhea, vomiting, and white specks?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 30 days old | 17 lbs

My 3 month puppy has had 2 rounds of shots that Vetco recommended. He's not feeling 100%. He threw up all his food yesterday and wouldn't eat dinner. He is drinking water and I’m giving him additional water by syringe. He is being playful but doesn’t have. 100% of his normal energy, but when he poops it has been diarrhea for the last 24. I have been giving him chicken and rice for the last 24 hours as well and the most recent diarrhea has little white specs in it that don’t move at all.

Helix could have tapeworms, which would cause the diarrhea and lack of energy. Tapeworms looks like grains of rice in the feces. I am concerned that he threw up all his food, is lethargic, and the home remedy isn't working. I would take him into a vet now to get checked out. Best of luck.
