My dog's eye swells after playing outside. Is it just allergies?

Last year my dog was at a friends house for a play date and when we got home the inner tissue of her eyelids were swollen over her eyes. The vet said possibly heat exhaustion or reaction to bee sting. He gave her a Benadryl shot and she was fine. Today she was In our front yard playing in the grass for about 30 min and her left eye was swollen again when we got in. I gave her Benadryl and it seems better. Just concerned it is something more serious than allergies? Pet's info: Dog | Basset Hound | Female | spayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 45 lbs

Poor pup! Given this keeps happening when she is outside, I'm wondering if it is allergies. She may do well with a longer acting medication like a steroid, or a specific allergy medication like Apoquel. I'd make her an appointment with your vet to discuss these options. I hope this helps!
