My dog chewed an old ant bait. Is he okay? What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | neutered | 9 lbs

My dog found an ant bait from last year and was chewing on it. Can you advise me what to do? I don’t think there was anything in there just remenants stuck to the plastic

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Lucky. The good news is that ant baits are minimally toxic to dogs, and given how old it was and the fact that there may just be remnants, he should be ok. You don't need to do anything. I hope this helps!

    I am assuming you meant to type ant killer? Most any bait is fairly non toxic, but not all. It really depends on the product. You can always call poison control with the product name and they can give you information on it. If you dont know what it was then I would highly encourage You to have him evaluated by a veterinarian immediately. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
