Can my dog travel on a road trip with a broken leg before surgery?

Hello my dog is getting surgery for a broken leg in about a week or 2 I have a trip planned driving it's a 5 hour drive and he was supposed to come with me can he still travel with or not thanks. Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 9 days old | 5 lbs

I would double check with your vet (who knows the specifics of the type of fracture Ernie sustained and how strict they want you to be with your exercise restriction), but I would probably be ok with you driving with him, as long as he's confined in the car so he won't be bouncing around. He should be in a well-padded small kennel where he can lay safely and not be jostled or at risk of falling over.
