Hello, and thanks for your question about Muffy. In order to better explain the reasoning for Muffy's treatment, we need to know a bit more information. There are many causes of vomiting, and many different types of infections that cats can get. The treatment would be specific to the specific type of infection, so we need to know what those injections were. A "probiotic" is a supplement given orally that helps introduce "good" bacteria that have beneficial effects on the GI tract. Probiotics are often given to animals with GI symptoms to help repopulate their GI tract with beneficial bacteria (and to outcompete some of the "bad" bacteria that can contribute to problems, such as clostridial bacteria). Sometimes when an animal has chronic or severe GI symptoms, they can be lacking in certain types of vitamins, such as B-vitamins. This may have been what your vet gave, but I can't say for sure without more information. Hope this helps! Feel free to post more questions if you have any more specific information on Muffy's treatment.
