My cat ate some of my miso soup. Is it safe for him? What to do?

Hello. I would not be concerned as long as the beans did not contain a significant amount of chopped/powdered onion or garlic. Onions & garlic can cause some problems in the blood & symptoms may not show for several days. You might see loss of appetite, depression, increased heart & breathing rate, weakness, jaundice ( yellow tinge to the skin & mucous membranes & a red to brown urine can occur. If Casper ate a small amount, like around 1/2 teaspoon, he will be fine. If he ate a substantial amount, you might need to take him to your vet quickly to have him cleaned out. The only thing on your list that is potentially toxic to cats is onion - so you think she may have eaten a significant amount of onion, it would be best to take her to the vet to be safe. However, these ingredients are toxic in larger amounts, and it does not seem like you used much of the salsa in your queso. These plants include garlic, onions, leeks, scallions, chives and shallots. If your pet eats one of these products, red blood cells can be damaged, resulting in the cells not being able to carry oxygen. Ingestion can also cause anemia (low red blood cell count) and, in severe cases, the anemia may lead to internal organ damage, organ failure or even death. Since it is difficult to know how much he ingested but it sounds like it wasn't a large amount, I recommend monitoring him closely at home for any signs of toxicity. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is hard to guide you since you do not know if or how much onion there was in the tuna. I can tell you that most of the time the pets are fine. If she is acting fine then I wouldn't rush to the ER. Onion toxicity isn't immediate and it usually is when they eat a lot of there is chronic exposure. Hi, I think Axel will be fine. The amount of salt on the bean will still not be enough to cause a significant problem and Edamame beans are not toxic to cats if accidentally ingested. There is no benefit in feeding them Edamame beans ongoing but there is no harm in having it as a one off occasion. I hope this makes sense !

You can start feeding her a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice for good measure. Feed about 1 cup per 20lbs per day for 3-5 days.
