My feral cat has red spots, skin wounds, and hair loss. Is it fleas?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

My cat is 5 year old ferral, stays in my apartment complex, recetly noticed red spots in her wrist joint on the front leg, same kind of spot on another forelimb but above the wrist as if some thing bit the epidermis off, same leg near elbow joint a superfical hole but no puss. Reddish spots on head, hairs withered from there. Vet gave antibiotic and said might be fleas. LOOKING FOR A SECOND OPINION. THANK YOU!!

Yes, I agree that fleas is most likely however, there is no way to know for sure just by looking at it. I think the treatment your vet recommended is correct. I would use the antibiotic but Bushu also needs a flea medication to treat for fleas if that is the case.
