Hi, i have a pet ferret. I was wondering how can you tell if they have a fever? And if they do have a cold what should i do to get him healthy again?

Ferrets occasionally suffer from colds and flu quite similar to humans, they will often sneeze and be lethargic when that happens. when a ferret has a fever he will usually stay still, sleep a lot and won't eat much. in order to get him better you will need to take him to the vet as he he may need to take medications to get better.

Thanks for reaching out. A veterinary visit is recommended sooner than later. Ferrets are prone to bacterial and viral (influenza) infections. Gastric problems (foreign bodies, infections) can also appear like respiratory problems due to discomfort and nausea. Separate from other ferrets to limit exposure. Good luck.
