Dog not drinking much after vomiting & on wet food. Should I return to vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 40 lbs

I took my dog to the vets Because he was vomiting a brown liquid and wasn’t keen to eat. X-rays were normal. They sent home anti nausea meds and a kangaroo wet food. He isn’t drinking much but is on a raw diet. Should I be concerned and go back to the vets? He is eating as normal. We haven’t started his regular diet up yet. Just the wet kangaroo food as instructed

If Tyson is on a wet food, he will be getting moisture from the it (it has a much higher moisture content than dry food), and that's likely why he's not drinking as much. You can add some water to the wet food to get more water into him, but if he's doing ok, no need to take him back into the vet just yet. I hope this helps!
