My puppy died from parvo after full vaccination. How is this possible?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 4 days old | 29.542 lbs

Kyra being fully vaccinated with the DHLPP three doses and Anti-rabbies vaccinations, just died tonight of the Parvovirus even after taking her to the vet doctor yesterday and today and being treated with antibiotics. My fury is how is this even possible? Did the vet doctor give Kyra expired or improperly stored vaccination? For a dog that was genuinely well cared for with balanced nutritious food, kept hydrated, how could she die of the same Parvovirus for which she has been Vaccinated?

I am so sorry Kyra died. Pleas accept my condolences for your loss. I see from the vaccination records that each vaccine was given two weeks apart. The recommendation from the American Veterinary Association is that these initial vaccines each have to be given four weeks apart in order to incur immunity. Given too close together, they will not work correctly, which you have seen unfortunately. I know this won't bring Kyra back, but I hope this helps answer your question. Again, I'm sorry.
