Is deworming treatment normal for a dog diagnosed with parvovirus?

Pet's info: Dog | Biewer Terrier | Male | neutered | 6 lbs

My dog was diagnosed with parvovirus friday. The vet gave him deworming pills every day for 4 days. He died Monday morning. Is it normal to give deworming treatment during parvovirus

I am sorry to hear that about Kylo. If worms are present in the intestines, they will cause further inflammation and potentially worsen the situation. The doctor was likely trying to eliminate other negative factors. If you have other questions about his treatment, I recommend to discuss your concerns with your veterinarian as they are most familiar with what happened. This can help to set unrest at ease. Also be aware that you now have parvovirus in the environment and any pets who are not fully vaccinated could get infected. Losing a pet is hard. My condolences.
