Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 8 days old | 2 lbs
Hi, so my cat is still quite young (born New Year's Eve), and I'm seeing some white fluid come out of two spots next to his anus. He has had problems with his anus in the past (it was protruding, but it never go very far as we got it treated right away). The fluid isn't extremely thick; its consistency led me to believe it was pus, actually, and the color had me thinking at very first glance that it was those worms that sometimes come out of cats sometimes. Should I be concerned?

Hello, cats have 2 anal glands that produce anything from a white milky substance to a dark colored substance. These glands are normal and provide some of the scent and lubrication to feces while pets defecate. In some instances one or both of these glands can become infected and need to be treated with surgery and/or antibiotics. If Sokka is scooting, having painful defecations or licking at the area, has swelling or bloody discharge then have him evaluated immediately. Otherwise, its likely that you may be seeing normal production from these glands. Hope this helps and best of luck.
