Pet's info: Dog | Golden Labrador | Male | neutered | 5 years and 4 months old
Hi there, Duke is a 5 year old Labrador retriever. His current weight is 42kg and his ideal weight should be 28-30kg. We were concerned about his weight so we decided to put him on a raw diet. We are currently feeding him 200g x 3times per day. I’m concerned that this may not be the ideal amount to feed him for weight loss. Please help me with how much we should be feeding him per day in order to help him lose weight. Apart from his raw diet, he goes on an hour long walk twice a day

Figuring conservatively, if we say that his target weight is about 30 kg and we want to feed 3% of that daily, this works out to 900 total grams of food per day. So you may want to increase to 300 grams, three times daily for now. Then weigh him in 30 days to see if you're making progress, and adjust accordingly.
