My cat with kidney disease won't eat renal food. Can I feed meat?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 4 months old | 6 lbs

My cat is diagnosed with CKD for last 8-9 months , he has been on antibiotics injections for last 2 months for urine bleeding infection and now become so weak and thin skinny lose his muscles alot not eating his royal canine renal diet for few days now , he has worms as well that come again and again every month. But for last two days he had fever 103.4 in night but since yesterday his temperature is 99 or sometimes 99.5 so he is weak he and wants to eat meat only, not renal diet . What to do ??

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I am so sorry to hear about Anano. Although the royal Canin renal diet is ideal, it’s more important that he eats SOMETHING. So go ahead and feed him the meat. Then contact your vet to see if he or she has any other testing or treatments to try. Best wishes to you and Anano.
