Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd - miniature | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 11 months old | 40 lbs
Hi. My dog was at the dog park and got to have more exercise than she would on a daily basis. She was playing a lot of fetch running and jumping in the air for the ball. All of a sudden she started limping on her hind leg. I didn't hear her help or anything. I checked the bottom of her paw and applied pressure to the leg to see if it caused any pain. She stopped limping completely when we got home and then about an hour later she started limping again. Are there any medicines that are ok to give

Poor Skye. I recommend resting her for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take her out to toilet on a leash, and bring her right back in when she's done. If hse still appears painful after this time, then I would take her into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. She may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give her any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I hope this helps!
