My dog has diarrhea and vomiting. Could she be in heat? Vet or home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Husky | Female | unspayed | 35 lbs

My husky/mix has been pooped in her cage and outside the cage twice in one day within a few hours . Then this morning I found poop and possibly throw up mixed with whiteish mucus also. She had no symptoms of tiredness or anything she always happy just had this incident should I take to the vet but money tight . Maybe if possible a home treatment first. She not fixed so could it possibly be that she is in heat or something

It's possible that Bear could be in heat - occasionally soft stool can be seen during a heat cycle. You should also see swelling of the vulva and mammary glands and blood tinged vulvar discharge. There are many other diseases that could cause soft stool and vomiting, but if she seems fine otherwise I think it would be okay to continue to monitor Bear for now. If she does start to develop true diarrhea or if you see any more vomiting I'd recommend seeing your vet.
