Why is my cat crying all night after rectal surgery? Is he in pain?

Greg underwent an intense surgery to repair his rectum and colon that had both prolapsed, and remove a mass that was bulging out of his anus as well. He was doing better - after not eating or drinking - nor using his litter box - for almost three days, he's eating slowly, and urinating and passing small bouts of very loose stool. Last night though, he was crying and whine-meowing ALL night, no matter what I did, until this mid morning. I gave him an Onsior, but what could this be from etc? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 5 years and 3 months old | 12 lbs

I'm glad Greg is doing better! It could be he is painful, as he did have a major surgery. I would keep a close eye on him, and have him seen by a vet in the morning if he's still acting this way. Best of luck.
