Why does my senior dog's jaw quiver when his mouth is closed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Springer Spaniel | Male | neutered | 11 years and 11 months old | 57 lbs

I have a 12 old Springer spaniel. He is very spry except for one issue. When he closes his mouth his bottom jaw quivers, sometimes it's quite severe. I have a video of it but for some reason I cant attach it.

Unfortunately you cannot share videos on the forum. You can request a consult where you can share videos. As for this jaw quivering, it could be Buddy has a dental problem causing it. Given that it is sometimes severe, I would have him seen by a vet for it. Best of luck.
