My dog's tongue is out, has a fever, and drinks lots. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 5 years and 8 months old | 44 lbs

I have a female German shepherd. Her tongue started hanging out of her mouth yesterday morning. She continuously barked at some monkeys that were on my roof. In the evening she was a little off and her voice changed, she could bark but now her tongue is out of the mouth most of the time and she has a little fever and she is drinking lots of water. Not sure what's going on. Can you please help?

Nancy may have an infected tooth in her mouth that is causing the discomfort and fever. I would recommend taking her to the vet to have an oral exam performed to look for a problem. You may also want to feed her soft or canned food until you determine the problem because thenkibble could further irritate the problem.
