My dog's tongue is out, has a fever, and drinks lots. What's wrong?

I have a female German shepherd. Her tongue started hanging out of her mouth yesterday morning. She continuously barked at some monkeys that were on my roof. In the evening she was a little off and her voice changed, she could bark but now her tongue is out of the mouth most of the time and she has a little fever and she is drinking lots of water. Not sure what's going on. Can you please help? Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 5 years and 8 months old | 44 lbs

Nancy may have an infected tooth in her mouth that is causing the discomfort and fever. I would recommend taking her to the vet to have an oral exam performed to look for a problem. You may also want to feed her soft or canned food until you determine the problem because thenkibble could further irritate the problem.
