Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 4 years and 7 months old | 8 lbs
My two year old indoor/outdoor cat has been dropping clumps of hair for the past two weeks and has black dots on her belly. She has bald spots from it. She also seems like she's slightly lethargic and has dropped a small amount of weight. The photos below are from her belly and clumps she dropped just in the last hour. She has really thick fur so seeing any skin on her is odd. The first photo shows the dots. Thank you for your help. I live in a rural area and vet access can be difficult.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. To be honest, this looks like a normal seasonal shed for a long-haired cat. (They May not do it every year and the first one is often at 2-4 years of age). Brush her throughly every day for the next week or two. The little black dots are comedowns (basically blackheads) and are usually not concerning either. If she becomes completely bald over large patches, or the lethargy worsens or you see any other concerning signs, it’s time to see the vet. Best wishes to you and Puss.
