Why is my dog gaining weight, aggressive, and chewing her tail?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 6 months old

My dog Athena was hit by a car about 2 years ago ,thankfully she was alright then but it seems maybe over time it's become a real problem, she gained excessive wieght and chews her tail sumtimes til it bleeds,she has low energy,aggressive at times and become vary unpredictable and moody,what's wrong

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Athena. I recommend that she see her veterinarian. She may have developed a thyroid disorder as this can cause low energy, weight gain, skin and behavioral changes. If her veterinarian suspects this based on her exam findings, then blood work will be performed. If this is the case, the condition is easily managed with daily medication.
