Female dog bleeding, yellow diarrhea, trembling. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | unspayed | 13 years old | 13 lbs

My Teddy is having diarrhea that is extremely yellow and her private female area is bleeding. She is trembling which makes me think she is in pain. It looks like her little private area is turning inside out. I would send a picture but she does not want me to touch around the area She also licks the area almost constantly. What should I do for her until I can get her to a vet tomorrow?

It might be a good idea to see an emergency vet tonight if there is a significant amount of bloody discharge from her vulva. This could be a sign of a urinary tract infection or uterine infection (pyometra). If you’re unable to see a vet I wouldn’t recommend anything specific at home other than preventing her from licking as much as possible.
