Why is my dog snorting like snot? Is it anxiety or reverse sneeze?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 8 lbs

My little Kiki is roughly 8-9 years old. Here lately she’s been having a problem. Idk how to explain it. It sounds like she’s snorting snot but I know it’s not. Is it a panic attack or anxiety?

Pets do not typically exhibit anxiety like this. Snorting can have many causes including allergies, post nasal drip or infection. There is a condition pet commonly have called a reverse sneeze. I recommend to look at videos on YouTube and see if that’s what she’s doing. If she was doing it frequently, or this is out of character for her, I recommend to visit the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
