Why is my female rabbit suddenly aggressive and peeing everywhere?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed

Hello! I have a 1 year old rabbit. We lotterbox trained her so she could run around our house with our kitties and dog. She would just love to be held and cuddle For the past 3 months she has become extremely aggressive! I can’t even pick her up without her attacking me. She’s also attacking my cats and my dog. She also quit using her litter box and pees everywhere in her cage and on the floor when she’s let out. Do you know why she’s like this?

Thanks for reaching out about Zoomie. Most likely it is because she is an intact female, and is fighting for territory and dominance. She needs to be spayed to prevent uterine neoplasia anyways, so now would be a good time. If she continues to be aggressive to the dog and cat, something bad is bound to happen, so isolate her for now. Good luck.
