Is a raw wound normal after my dog's bee sting scab fell off?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog was stung by a bee a week ago, I got the stinger out, he didn’t have any issues with it, but a scab formed that was round/ball-like, looked almost like a small tic. It fell off today, and the wound looks a little raw and curved/concave. Is this normal?

I wouldn’t be too concerned about the wound in your picture. I’d expect it to continue to heal and resolve in the next few days. If you feel like it’s getting larger, or if you notice any discharge it would be a good idea to have your vet take a look.
