Why is my dog vomiting, not eating, lethargic, and trembling?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 22 lbs

My dog has thrown up twice, last time was a few hours ago. He isn't eating, very lethargic and was trembling before I put a blanket on him. He is still drinking water though

The lethargy and trembling could be related to nausea, but if Grif continues to show these signs I'd recommend having him examined by your vet. There are many, many diseases that can cause these symptoms and your vet might recommend running some tests to determine the underlying cause (such as blood work and x-rays of the abdomen). Your vet can also treat with anti-nausea medication and fluids if Grif seems dehydrated to help him feel better quickly.
