I am so sorry that Thor is so sick. A little more information might help us better address your concerns. Is he able to walk at all? How old is he? Other than crying and not eating, what other symptoms is he showing? Did the vet do any diagnostics such as blood tests or X-rays? Based on the information you have provided, though, I am very worried that Thor is suffering greatly. If that is the case and this has been going on for a month and If he is crying all day and is unable to eat, it is not wrong to consider humane euthanasia. You can seek a second opinion from another vet close to you, but any vet would need to perform a physical exam and possibly do some tests (blood tests, etc) to get an idea of whether or not there is anything that can be done to help him. Unfortunately I don't have any solutions for you to try at home, other than to say that you can continue to hand feed him; offer a good dog food ground up with water or broth--this will provide better nutrition than milk. However, that is not going to be enough to make a difference I'm afraid, and don't try to force syringe feed him as this will put him at risk for aspiration pneumonia if the food ends up going down his airway instead of into his stomach. I'm so sorry you and Thor are going through this. Thanks for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
