Is my dog's clear runny nose, watery eyes, and lethargy allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 9 months old | 24 lbs

normally energetic, happy purebred boston started with a very light occasional clear drip from his nose, still light and clear but its always there now. Eyes leaking staining his face, lethargic but ready to go as soon as we get up n moving to go outside or the car. Possible fever occasionally, but today at testing it was only 99.6, my cat scratch him sometimes, he ate some wood playing fetch,No vomit or diarrhea I've left him home alone more lately to, strictly inside dog no cough shots UTD

Based on what you are describing I would assume that Jax is just suffering from seasonal allergies. Since he is otherwise eating and drinking well I would not be too concerned. You may want to call your veterinarian and ask about an over the counter medication, like Zyrtec, and see if it is appropriate for Jax. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
