My teacup York is has a sudden bald spot on her head where hair won’t grow. Do you know what this might be? She’s 5 in human years.

From the photographs, the skin does not look red which is very unusual to see with hair loss. Try to remember if there was any history of trauma to this area as maybe it is a scar. Sometimes you can see here follicles synchronize in their growth and loss cycles so it’s possible it could come back on its own. Skin mites are another possibility. A trip to your veterinarian may be beneficial as they can perform a quick and easy diagnostic to look for mites. They can also check her for other evidence of skin disease. In general providing pets with an omega three fatty acid supplement for dogs tends to be beneficial to the skin. Make sure to keep the area free from trauma. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
