I took my cat to the vet to get neutered only to get a call that she almost died and had to be resuscitated because she had a bad reaction to the anesthetic. The doctor says that the dosage was too strong for her and wants to try operating again in 10 days with a smaller dosage of the anesthetic. She is about 8 months old and the initial dosage was decided based on her weight. Should I go ahead with the operation? She is a house cat and only goes outside when me and my wife take her.

Depending on what happened it might be better to choose completely different anesthetic drugs if possible. You might also want to ask about referral to a specialty center where there is an anesthesiologist present as well. Ultimately there could be risk, and spaying is an elective procedure although there are long term health benefits. You may decide that it is not worth the risk - have a conversation with your vet for details.
