Why is my 3-month-old puppy sluggish and not eating? Is he sick?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 3 months and 17 days old | 60 lbs

My 3.5 month old puppy seems really sluggish today, I’m having to drag him a bit on walks and he later down while eating his lunch which he’s never done, I noticed last night that he wined a little bit in the middle of the night but stopped so I didn’t think much of it, he hasn’t since. Is he just sleepy or is this a symptom of something? He is peeing and pooping and eating and drinking normally.

It sounds like poor Arlo may be ill or he could have injured himself. Let him rest tonight, only take him out to potty and bring him right backing when he's done. If he's still acting this way in the morning, I would have him seen by a vet. Best of luck.
