My dog has a lump under her breast. Should I take her to the vet?

Hi I just realized there is a bump under one of my dogs breasts. I don’t know if I should take her to the vet. I did some research and I think it might be a memmary gland tumor.

Poor Daisy! A lump in the breast can be a cancerous tumor, a benign tumor or can be an infection. I recommend to have Daisy examined by her veterinarian today if possible. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.

I would recommend taking Daisy to a veterinarian. Without a physical examination and an aspirate of the lump it is hard to say if it is cancerous or not. Your veterinarian can either take an aspirate or do a biopsy if needed to determine if it is something to be concerned about. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
