Hello and thank you for reaching out to Pet Coach. It is good that your puppy is still playful and drinking. Diarrhea in a puppy this age is very common as a direct cause of: parasites (even though a dewormer was given), abrupt change in diet, or viral infections of the intestinal tract. It is important that his feces are tested for parasites and possible viral infections (depending on his vaccination status) by your veterinarian as soon as he can be seen. Your veterinarian will also be able to provide medications for the diarrhea as well. Make sure you keep him eating and drinking, and continue to monitor carefully.

I'm sorry to hear Jasper isn't feeling well! I'd recommend having him examined by a veterinarian at this point. It's pretty common for puppies to have intestinal parasites that can cause diarrhea and this diarrhea can lead to dehydration (even if the puppy is still drinking). I'm also concerned that if Jasper does not eat his blood sugar will get too low as puppies have a harder time regulating their blood sugar level. Make sure you try to bring a stool sample with you to the veterinary visit so it can be checked for parasites. You can try to offer Jasper a bland meal of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice until you can get to the veterinarian. However, I encourage you to go as soon as possible as it sounds like Jasper will need prescription medications to fully resolve the issue. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and I hope Japser is feeling better soon!
