Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered
This morning we found our parakeet Bob on the bottom of the cage (standing), with ruffled feathers, squinting eyes, and listlessness. He drinks but does not eat. He has liquid poop with red in it. He is quieter than usual. He wants to sleep most of the time. It's Sunday and there are no avian vets open today. How can we help him? (There are two other birds with him in a large flight cage. We have had Bob for about three weeks.

Thanks for reaching out about Bob, but Bob needs to see a veterinarian. Anytime there is blood in the droppings, that is serious. Providing heat support in the 85-90 F range might give some support, but is not a cure. Separating the birds might help decrease the possibility of cross infection, if bacterial or viral. Good luck.
